I'm My Own Grandpa

Sunt deja multi ani de cand am auzit cantecul acesta cantat de Willie Nelson. Se afla pe un CD imprumtat de fiica mea de la o bibiloteca din Salt Lake City, care CD avea atatsate si versurile cantecelor. M-am bucurat ca  i-am gasit versurile si pe net. O sa incerc sa le traduc, f liber,  pt prietenele  mele care nu stiu engleza:

This made my dad my son-in-law and changed my very life

My daughter was my mother 'cause she was my father's wife

To complicate the matter even though it brought me joy

I soon became the father of a bouncing baby boy

My little baby then became a brother-in-law to Dad

And so became my uncle, though it made me very sad

For if he was my uncle, then that also made him br'ther

Of the widow's grown-up daughter who was also my stepmother

Father's wife then had a son who kept them on the run

And he became my grandchild, for he was my daughter's son

My wife is now my mother's mother and it makes me blue

Because altho' she is my wife, she's my grandmother too

Now if my wife is my grandmother, then I'm her grandchild

And every time I think of it, it nearly drives me wild

For now I have become the strangest case I ever saw

As husband of my grandmother, I am my own grandpa

Sunt propriul meu bunic

Cu mult timp in urma cand eram de ani douajtrei

Eram insurat cu o vaduva frumoasa foc

Acesta vaduva avea o fata mare cu de jar parul ei

De care tata s-a indragostit pe loc.

Vai, sunt propriul meu bunic

Si nu e nostim nici un pic.

Si-asa am tatal tata-socru si totul s-a schimbat

Fiica-mea mi-e mama, cu tata ea s-a maritat

Si ca sa fie totul cat mai complicat

Sunt fericitul tata de baiat.

Micutul meu acuma e cumnat cu Tata

Si-mi este unchi, ah cruda imi e soarta

Fiindca de-mi e unchi, el frate chiar ii este

A vaduvei fiica, a mea vitrega mama; nu-i poveste...

Nevasta tatei nascu si ea un fiu

Nepot mi-a devenit, ca-i este mama fie-mea eu stiu.

Sotia este mama mamei mele, vai de ea,

Fiindca mi-e nevasta, dar si bunica mea.

Acu' daca nevasta mi-e bunica eu ii sunt nepot

Si cand mi-aduc aminte de asta nu mai pot!

Fiindca sunt cel mai ciudat caz care s-a pomenit

Sa fiu sotul bunicii si propriul meu bunic.

Interesant e ca in Wikipedia se spune ca acest caz ciudat ar fi existat in realitate, un exemplu celebru fiind Bill Wyman/Mandy Smith, Bill Wyman fiind un membru al celebrului grup rock Rolling Stones.
