The Outlaws 2 - The Roundup

Una dintre prietenele mele de pe Facebook din Philipine era foarte fericită că a văzut ”Emergency Declaration”. Fericirea ei se datora faptului că este mare fan Kim Nam Gil, care joacă în acest film.

Am început să caut pe net ca să văd dacă există cu subtitrări în engleză. Există chiar pe Viki dar nu se poate vedea în țara noastră.

Am descoperit că pe Drama Cool este episodul 1 și am și văzut filmul, care este cumplit de dur, cam cum sunt toate filmele și serialele polițiste coreene. Am rezistat totuși până la sfârșit pentru că rolul gangsterului este interpretat de nimeni altul decât Son Sook Ku, foarte îndrăgit de mulți din ”My Liberation Notes” unde a jucat rolul unui fost gangster, Mr Gu.

Bineînțeles că după ce am terminat de vizionat am început cercetarea pe Google ca să văd exact despre ce e vorba. Am constatat că în acest caz s-a procedat ca la TVR pe vremuri, s-a schimbat titlul filmului, care original este ”The Roundup” fiind al doilea dintr-o serie de filme de mare succes, ”The Outlaws”.

În ciuda ferocității personajului Son Sook Ku rămâne același carismatic actor pe care l-am văzut în ”My Liberation Notes”. Cât despre Ma Dong Seok atât aspectul cât și stilul de joc mă fac să îl numesc un ”Piedone sud-coreean”. Filmul a avut (are) mare succes în Coreea de Sud, poate și pentru că are și scene de umor și comic negru, foarte negru.

Am citit un articol despre semnificația tatuajelor lui Son Sook Ku în acest film. Am copiat câteva fraze din acel articol: ”The tattoo engraved by Kang Hae-sang is composed of two idioms “不俱戴天之讐” and “臥薪嘗膽”.

About the reason for engraving the idiom “不俱戴天之讐”, which means the enemy that must be killed, director Lee Sang-yong said, “I interpreted Kang Hae-sang as a character who lives without regret and is vengeful. I thought it was a phrase that suited this character.”

“臥薪嘗膽” is also a Chinese idiom related to revenge. It means to sleep on brushwood and taste gall (literally) or we can understand as “to endure hardships to accomplish some ambition”.

Director Lee Sang-yong explained, “I liked the feeling of ‘I won’t give up until the end’, and I decided to use this idiom because I thought it was a phrase that matched Kang Hae-sang.”

In addition, various tattoos that Kang Hae-sang engraved all over his body were also given meaning. Director Lee Sang-yong said, “Kang Hae-sang is set to have moved from the Philippines to Vietnam, but criminals tend to have illegal tattoos in the Philippines. Kang Hae-sang’s tattoos aren’t high-quality neat ones, but non-uniform and rough ones.”

Machete and ax in Kang Hae-sang’s tattoos express weapons that he mainly uses. The spider on the web expresses a drug addict. Although the two angels are angels, they express Kang Hae-sang’s unusual spiritual world by adding the devil’s horns.”
